Come to the Sale
On Sunday June 12, 2011 come to the Auction and select the animal(s) of your choice and do your own bidding. You may have your animal(s) processed for your freezer or arrange resale at market price (“Buy Back”, See below).
If you are keeping the meat you will be asked to select a cutting and wrapping facility to process your meat. Several options will be provided and in some cases these facilities have freezer (locker) space available for rent. All of the arrangements for transportation and processing are made according to your instructions by the auction staff who will be on hand to help answer any questions regarding processing. Buy Back Program
If you want to participate financially but you have no need for the meat the animal can be resold via the buy back program. The buyer will pay the difference between the auction sale purchase price and the current market price that is established the day of the sale. This process is quite simple and can be completed without ever having to take possession of the animal.
Example:
Lamb Weight 120 lbs
Auction Price $2.55 per lb. (2007 avg.) $306.00
Buy Back Price @$.80 per lb $96.00
Buyer pays difference of $210.00*
*In some cases this premium amount has been accepted by the IRS as a deductible charitable expense. Please consult your tax adviser for additional information.
